Program Overview

Link to L.E.K. is an immersive program for Life Sciences Advanced Degree Candidates designed to provide participants with an in-depth view of life sciences strategy consulting and more specifically, the Life Sciences Specialist (LSS) role. This program will be held virtually and will feature opportunities to:

  • Learn more about L.E.K. as a firm and the type of work we do
  • Gain hands-on experience working through a simulated case with Life Sciences Consultants and present findings to senior management
  • Network with all levels of Life Sciences staff

Participants will receive an accelerated invitation to final round interviews for Life Sciences Specialist roles.

Qualifications

L.E.K. seeks highly motivated, creative, and entrepreneurial candidates who meet the following requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a top PhD / post-doc, MD or PharmD program within the Life Sciences (e.g., biology, pathology, chemical engineering, etc.)
  • Interested in pursuing full-time consulting opportunities in 2026
  • High degree of comfort with quantitative analysis
  • Outstanding record of academic achievement, notable extracurricular interests, and demonstrated leadership and initiative

Application Process

Applicants will be asked to submit a resume and cover letter describing your interest in the program. The 2025 Link to L.E.K. opening will go live on the careers section of the website on February 3, 2025, with a deadline of March 9, 2025.

Selected candidates will be invited to a virtual case interview in late March.

FAQs

Is Link to L.E.K. evaluative?
No, but if you are accepted to the program, you will receive an accelerated invitation to final round interviews. Link to L.E.K. is an opportunity for us to meet you, but more importantly for you to get to know L.E.K. Consulting.

If I’m not accepted to the Link program, can I still apply for full-time?
Yes, if you do not receive an invitation for the Link program, you can still submit an application for a full-time LSS role. 

What if I’m graduating in 2027?
Link to L.E.K. is an annual program, so if you are graduating in 2027, you should wait and apply next year. 

Are there other internship opportunities offered to advanced degree candidates?
At this time, we do not offer other internship opportunities for advanced degree candidates.

What is the role of a PhD / post-doc in consulting?
As an LSS, you gain comprehensive training that integrates science, business, and economics to prepare you for strategic leadership in the Healthcare and Life Sciences industry. You will not only be a technical expert, but also a business expert, developing cutting-edge strategic and managerial skills that provide a strong foundation for a career at L.E.K. Consulting

Does an MD-equivalent degree from another country qualify me for the Link program/LSS role?
Yes, if you have an MD-equivalent degree you are eligible.
